Danny Bell, Quebec City, Quebec (Canada)
Born: 10/13/1961
Danny Bell is one of the most popular
and well-respected handball players on
the pro circuit. He is a model of consistency
and persistence who personifies the notion
that age is truly nothing but a number.
Bell is the most successful Canadian pro
in the history of the tour, and along
with Merv Deckert, the face of Canadian
handball.
Bell is also known as the best conditioned
and durable players in top-level handball
play. Always a fan favorite, he'll do
what it takes to keep a rally going.
Although Bell flirted with retiring
from open handball two years ago, he made
an incredible run in the 2005 four-wall
nationals, defeating top-seed Naty Alvarado
before succumbing to Paul Brady in the
Finals. He is truly one of the greatest
athletes in the history of Canadian sports.
